Using Direct Mail and Promotional Incentives
How to Expand American Business Customer Base Using Direct Mail and Promotional Incentives
The easiest and cheapest way is to grab a phone directory and start calling people and businesses announcing that I am ready and eager to service them. Cold calls on the phone. And there is another way, more expensive but much more effective. I will announce my special offers to my prospective customer (special deals such as after-season or pre-season sales, discounts, special coupons, free gifts and other special incentives) and mail an invitation for my special customer to stop by when it’s convenient for him or her, and see if those special deals are really good and useful special deals for him, not just marketing ploys designed to hook and switch. My special deal invitation mailed to my targeted, preferred prospect has 30 per cent chance of bringing me a new customer! Moneywise, if I spend one dollar per invitation and after sending about couple of hundred invitations I will get 50 new customers that would be four dollars invested in each new customer. Is it worth it? Sure.
People love free gifts, and I could use a promo as a gift (promoting my own business and at the same time giving to my new customer something for nothing). I can design my unique new logo, or add another business logo to my collection of already existing logos (to announce a new line of my business services or products), slap that logo on a nice T-Shirt, take a picture of that T-Shirt, design a full-color postcard using the picture of my T-Shirt with my great new and unique business-logo, then add my special deal business message on that postcard, have it printed and mailed to a targeted list of my preferred niche marketing prospects inviting those people stop by at my shop and grab one of those personalized T-Shirts completely free, just as my way of saying “Thank-you for coming by!”
